迟到的悼歌 (双语)
迟到的悼歌
        —为地震中丧生的学生们而写


早在他们打下不稳固的地基
架上偷工减料的屋梁
粉刷摇摇欲倒的墙壁的时候
我们就该为你们唱悼歌的

而怯懦的我们
却一直保持缄默
直到地震无情的怪手
一下子把校舍推毁
将你们活埋
才来呼天抢地
唱迟到的悼歌



A BELATED DIRGE
      -- for the school students perished in recent earthquakes

we should have sung the dirge for you
when they put down the shaky foundation
propped up the shoddy beams
and whitewashed the cruddy walls

Yet we've cowardly kept our silence
waited for the earthquake to strike
burying you alive
now all we can do is wail
and sing a belated dirge
for you

非马又写了一首令人深思的诗歌，有力地抨击了“偷工减料”偷梁换柱的豆腐渣工程。讽刺了“才来呼天抢地/唱迟到的悼歌”社会现象。
