虽然 埃及王子 是动画片，其实还是值得一看的。不过配音和中文字幕，并不能完全传达原版中的妙处。这段并非“疯狂的舞蹈”：摩西发现了自己的犹太人身世，再也不能忍受每天发生在自己身边的犹太民族受奴役的现实，于是离家出走，在沙漠中被贝都因人收留。因为他贵为埃及王子，在陌生的游牧部落中并不习惯，贫穷而快乐的贝都因人载歌载舞，摩西一人向隅（He used to be a prince, now he is a stranger, not only a stranger to the Bedouins, but also a stranger to the world. He has just lost himself.) 于是酋长对他唱了这么一段，摩西在他的点化下，成为贝都因人的一员，重新找回了自我，不久还成了酋长的女婿。后来，摩西在荒野中得到了天启，他又毅然离开了贝都因部落，回到了埃及，去拯救他的民族。
这也是一个“寻找自我”、“身份认同”的故事。摩西并不是因为富贵安逸，就心安理得做他的王子，做他的贝都因人，为了他的良心和信仰，他义无反顾地抛弃荣华富贵，离开他好不容易融入的贝都因人社会，为了他心中的使命，无求生以害仁，有杀生以成仁，虽千万人，吾往矣。
似乎新约中提到，“现在人也不知道他，他也不知道他，有朝一日，他将知道他，人也将知道他”。那个动画片很好地演绎了旧约摩西传奇故事中的精神内涵。起初，“他也不知道他”，作为王子摩西浑浑噩噩，作为离家出走的流浪汉摩西一人向隅，生活在良心的折磨、生活的苦恼，和个人的“无助无力”中。当“他知道他”，找到了人生的意义，他就超越了个体命运的局限，成为唤起千百同胞创造自己命运的先知。当“人知道了他”，犹太民族就获得了新生。

当影片出现无数犹太人走出们，跟从摩西走进旷野，去寻找无人知晓的“流着奶和蜜”的地方时，主题歌响起了：
